Following the 3rd MOPT Conference, the 4th edition reaffirms the growing relevance of spatial modeling in addressing challenges related to sustainability, climate resilience, and urban transformation. Over the past year, significant advances in geospatial methods, data integration, and participatory approaches have continued to reshape the way we think about cities and territories.

In this context, the 4th MOPT Conference: Spatial Modeling for Sustainable Cities and Territories invites participants to reflect on a central question: How can spatial modeling and geotechnologies support the design of more sustainable, equitable, and intelligent urban and territorial systems?

This conference aims to:

  • Foster critical discussion around theoretical and applied research in spatial and land use modeling for sustainable urban and territorial development;
  • Highlight how quantitative and computational geographies are evolving in response to the technological revolution driven by AI, remote sensing, and big geospatial data;
  • Promote dialogue between curiosity-driven science and real-world planning challenges;

Showcase innovative tools and methods that contribute to more sustainable decision-making in urban and spatial planning.
