Workshop RSA #CPnet Sustainable Transitions - Balance and Future Challenges in the EU Cohesion Policy Context

On 9 December, 66 participants from 12 countries gathered for an online workshop organised by the MOPT-CEG/IGOT research group in collaboration with the RSA Research Network on EU Cohesion Policy (#CPnet). The event provided an opportunity to delve into the challenges and opportunities facing Cohesion Policy in a rapidly changing Europe.

In the morning session, Roman Römisch (wiiw) and Anabela Marques Santos (JRC) reflected on the challenges of Cohesion Policy in a transitioning Europe.

This was followed by presentations from André Alves (IGOT-ULisboa), Mahshid Cheraghi (UPM), and Martina Caputo (POLITO), who shared their doctoral research. The topics connected Cohesion Policy to Sustainable Transitions, addressing energy issues, public participation, and national policies.

In the afternoon session, senior researchers Marcin Dabrowski (TU Delft) and Alessandra Faggian (GSSI) delivered keynote talks, offering regional perspectives on public participation and peripheral areas within the framework of Cohesion and Transitions.

The MOPT team thanks all participants for contributing to this day of debate and reflection on the critical interaction between Cohesion Policy and Sustainable Transitions. The workshop enriched understanding of the challenges and opportunities in building a more digital, sustainable, and cohesive Europe.
